Lost in the forest - Writing Term 4

Devan staggered around the forest, fear gripping his soul. Heart pounding like elephants stomping.
Screams of despair flew out of his mouth, petrified shivers slid down Devan's spine. He stared up into the blinding sunlight. Light knifed through the leaves sending arms all over random places as he traveled, downcast and lost. Water dripped from his eyes. Devan stood stone cold, glaring around. There was no sign of life, suddenly the sun started descending.

I am learning to use sentences starting with different parts of speech.
I am learning this to create more impact.
What I want to learn next is theme.

Should students be allowed to miss school to go on Holiday? - Kiwi Kids News

The British government has changed the law so that Principals can no longer allow absence outside of school holidays.

The new law was bought in because of concerns that some kids were missing school for family holidays during term time when it’s cheaper.

Over 125,000 people in Britain have signed a petition against the new law.

With New Zealand’s summer holidays just around the corner we would like to know what readers of Kiwi Kids News think about this issue.

Should parents be allowed to take holidays whenever they want?

Have your parents ever taken you out of school so that you could have a family holiday?
