Lost in the forest - Writing Term 4

Devan staggered around the forest, fear gripping his soul. Heart pounding like elephants stomping.
Screams of despair flew out of his mouth, petrified shivers slid down Devan's spine. He stared up into the blinding sunlight. Light knifed through the leaves sending arms all over random places as he traveled, downcast and lost. Water dripped from his eyes. Devan stood stone cold, glaring around. There was no sign of life, suddenly the sun started descending.

I am learning to use sentences starting with different parts of speech.
I am learning this to create more impact.
What I want to learn next is theme.

A violin believed to have been played on the Titanic before it sank, has been sold for more that $1.9 million NZD.

The instrument is now unplayable due to water damage but was believed to be owned by bandmaster Wallace Hartley, who was among the disaster’s more than 1,500 victims.

The story of Hartley’s band, which continued playing on the ship’s deck until the disaster’s final hour, is a memorable part of James Cameron’s “Titanic” movie.

Many experts believe that this price will not be beaten for sometime.

The violin has been subject to numerous tests to check its authenticity since it was discovered in 2006.

Blind golfer hits hole in one

A hole-in-one is a pretty amazing achievement for any golfer, but for Jim O’Brien it’s even more special. That’s because 71-year-old Jim is fully blind.

Jim from the UK and he landed the shot on the sixth hole at Surrey’s Hindhead Golf Club.

O’Brien has been playing for 16 years and said, as far as he knows, he’s only the third blind golfer to get a hole-in-one.

“When I teed off, I hit the ball nicely. After a few seconds, the guys I was with said ‘It’s in the hole’. It was a great feeling – it’s unbelievable.”

When Jim plays he is helped by a sighted caddie or guide, who lines up for shots for him.

The odds of a fully-sighted golfer hitting a hole-in-one are around 14,000-to-one, so it shows just how rare the achievement is.

Slender Report

WALT - Link sentences with non-fiction text.
Have you seen a tall, pale white faced man with no eyes nor mouth, has black shoes and a tuxedo? If you have, you are in grave danger. This creature is known as the Slenderman. The creature's life form has not been identified yet, even though it has the word 'man' in its name, it is no gender!

Slenderman has white hands and wields nothing. It's back has around six black tentacles to grab people or animals, also, uses them as transport and to get up high places. Slender is mostly sighted on its feet without tentacles.

It lives in the deep woods and the forest, so if you see it then go to sleep at night, you'll wake up inside the depths of slender wood. It's appetite are people's souls.

Slender has the ability to teleport and it toys around with its prey before taking people's souls.

I recommend you not to play the game because it might petrify you and make it hard to sleep.

My next learning step is: To think about the use of my verbs.
